1:1 Executive Functioning Coaching

Veronica will provide one on one executive functioning coaching. This will include first a comprehensive executive functioning assessment using the Brown’s Executive Functioning Scales. Based on the results Veronica and the team including parents and students will set goals to track progress on and share at regular team meetings. Veronica will strategically teach students techniques that will best address their executive functioning gaps, and coach them towards independence with these strategies. Veronica will also regularly check in with students between sessions to problem solve and monitor progress.

This summer package will include 15 sessions that are 50 minutes- 1 hour. Sessions will occur at students homes or an otherwise mutually agreed upon location. At the end of the summer families may have the option of continuing to work with Veronica during the next school year.

1:1 Orton Gillingham Tutorial

Veronica will assess students using phonemic & phonological awareness measures, spelling, and writing analysis. Veronica will then set goals to work towards, and she will share progress at regular team meetings. Veronica will use the Orton Gillingham approach to address students weaknesses in reading, spelling, and writing. The Orton-Gillingham Approach is a tool that empowers instructors as they develop a structured, individualized, and multisensory plan to teach reading and language skills that is especially beneficial for students with dyslexia. Veronica is currently completing an associate level Orton Gillingham training program with an accredited Academy of Orton Gillingham fellow. Veronica has previously completed the classroom educator Orton Gillingham training and also holds a reading endorsement through her Master's in Education degree. She served as reading specialist and ELA teacher for the last 3 years.

This summer package will include 15 sessions that are 50 minutes- 1 hour. Sessions will occur at students homes or an otherwise mutually agreed upon location. At the end of the summer families may have the option of continuing to work with Veronica during the next school year.

Literacy Support

Veronica tailors literacy services to student's current needs based on a combination of diagnostic assessments, record and evaluation review, and observation. She works with students in grades 2 through college on a variety of different literacy tasks. She supports younger learners with instruction on phonological awareness skills and strategies for fluency as well as a foundation of grammar for strong written expression. When there is a strong foundation of basic reading skills then lessons can shift to more complex tasks including critical analysis and essay formation. Veronica also cultivates a joy of reading by showing it can be accessible to everyone.

If your child has dyslexia, Veronica recommends 1:1 Orton Gillingham sessions.
